Humanity AI Reading Group @ SEU

Monthly Seminar Series

About Our Group

We are the AI4Humanity Reading Group, a research community dedicated to applying artificial intelligence to the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage. Our work focuses on ancient books, lacquerware, and other cultural artifacts, exploring how multimodal models, vision-based analysis, and AI agents can support tasks such as damage assessment, restoration planning, material identification, and digital conservation. We are particularly interested in building trustworthy, interpretable, and human-in-the-loop agent systems that can assist scholars and conservators rather than replace their expertise.

Every month, graduate students are invited to lead a session where they present recent research papers, share technical insights, and discuss hands-on experience in AI-driven cultural heritage restoration. Topics may include multimodal perception for artifacts, agent-based restoration workflows, uncertainty-aware decision making, and interactive tools for heritage documentation. Undergraduate students who are interested in AI, digital heritage, and interdisciplinary research are welcome to join our discussions.
